Our goal

CO₂-neutral production by 2030

Shaping clean and quiet mobility is anchored in our company strategy MOVE. We have set for ourselves the goal of making our production CO₂-neutral by 2030. In doing so, we are simultaneously supporting the 1.5 degree target of the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement.

Well thought-out and efficient energy and environmental management is very important to us. It is based on our energy and environmental guideline. In this way, we use resources responsibly and protect the climate.

Energy consumption and carbon footprint

The Eberspächer Group covers around 70 percent of its currently reported total energy demand with electricity. Since 2021, the German production sites have been supplied with green electricity, further European plants followed in 2022. Compared to the previous year, our electricity consumption-induced CO₂ emissions reduced by 16 percent.

Certified management systems

The environmental management systems of almost all production sites are certified in accordance with ISO 14001. The continuous reduction in energy consumption is a key component in the annual environmental and energy programs at the individual sites — as it has been for years.

Waste and water

Water is a scarce resource and a relevant environmental metric. In the context of sustainability monitoring, we and our customers place value on efficient consumption. To protect the environment, we separate waste and dispose of or recycle it properly. Compared to the 2019 baseline, the volume of non‑hazardous waste was reduced by 30 percent. Hazardous waste decreased by 22 percent.

In cooperation with our logistics partners and suppliers, we strive to reduce the carbon footprint from production, transport and traffic.
