Changes in management of Purem by Eberspaecher

- Marcus Knödler becomes sole CEO

- Co-CEO Volker Cwielong leaves company

- Division with positive development for Clean Mobility

 

Esslingen (Germany), 4 October 2023 – Change in the management of Purem by Eberspaecher: Co-CEO Marcus Knödler will take over the management of the largest Division within the Eberspaecher Group as sole CEO at the beginning of November. Co-CEO Volker Cwielong has decided to leave the company.

"We are convinced that Marcus Knödler will continue the positive development as sole CEO of the Division in the future. We are on the right track in every respect, as we are not only gaining market share, but also offering attractive future prospects with innovations close to our core business," emphasizes Martin Peters Managing Partner of the Eberspaecher Group. The 52-year-old business economist (MBA) Marcus Knödler has been with the company for seven years and headed the finance department before taking up his Co-CEO position. Looking to the future, Knödler summarizes, "I am looking forward to the expanded task and am sure that I will successfully shape the transformation of the Division together with the proven team."

The previous Co-CEO Volker Cwielong has decided to leave the company. "We thank Volker Cwielong for his outstanding work. Under his responsibility, the Division has developed positively and gained important market shares. We wish him every success for his new tasks, both personally and professionally," Peters continued. Cwielong took over as Co-CEO together with Marcus Knödler in July 2022. Prior to this, he was responsible for the European business of the exhaust technology specialist for five years as Executive Vice President.

Clean Mobility worldwide
As a specialist for exhaust gas purification and acoustic systems, Purem by Eberspaecher is shaping the clean mobility of the future. With around 35 production sites worldwide, the Division generated around 1.9 billion in net sales last year. The portfolio includes solutions for all major passenger car and commercial vehicle manufacturers to meet the currently applicable emission standards. Purem by Eberspaecher is focusing on innovative solutions, particularly in view of upcoming emission standards such as Euro 7 and other global legislation. In addition to the continuous improvement of pure combustion or hybrid engines, the exhaust gas purification and acoustics specialist is working on future topics and new technologies. By transferring its many years of know-how in exhaust technology, Purem by Eberspaecher offers solutions for fuel cell applications and the hydrogen engine.
