Eberspächer starts exhaust system production in Resende / Brazil
Since December 2015 Eberspächer has been putting together exhaust systems in the new assembly plant in Resende, in the federal state of Rio de Janeiro. Newly won orders for exhaust systems necessitated the expansion of capacity for the Brazilian market. The 25,000 m² site is only a stone’s throw away from a large number of major car manufacturers. Over the 3,000 m² production area, exhaust systems are being assembled. This year alone, around 130,000 exhaust components are set to be delivered and the number is rising. The aim is to upgrade the factory in the next few years from an assembly plant to a production plant and to be on hand for additional vehicle makers in Brazil. Eberspächer Sütrak GmbH & Co. KG will also be commencing production of bus air-conditioning systems for the South American market around the middle of the year.
Well equipped for car comfort this winter
The days are barely getting shorter, but already many car drivers are once again facing tiresome ice-scraping and unpleasant shivering at the wheel. Anyone who prefers to get into a nicely pre-heated vehicle and wants to enjoy a clear all-round view right from the start should now opt for a pre-heater. Thanks to clever energy management, even people driving just short distances can now enjoy this convenience. Whereas conventional units require around 30 minutes to heat up, with the Hydronic 2 Comfort from Eberspächer windshields are usually free of ice within a heating time ten minutes upwards. This benefits the battery which, according to the rule of thumb “Heating time equals driving time”, fully charges again just as quickly. Thermal management for self-driving concept car
„Home game“ for Rinspeed. Following its presentation in Las Vegas Swiss hotbed of innovation shows the self-driving hybrid sports car “Σtos” at the Geneva Motor Show from 1st of March. The car impresses not only visually but also with its extremely innovative engineering. The appropriate thermal management concept comes from Eberspächer. The option exists for regulating the systems used for battery pre-heating and the pre-heater via a smartwatch or smartphone. Thanks to an infotainment system that learns as it goes, “Σtos” is familiar with the habits and preferences of its passenger, thus minimizing the number of necessary inputs. The driver can engage the steering wheel on demand, while eight external cameras monitor the area surrounding the vehicle to ensure a safe ride. more
