Top performances in cold and ice: Eberspächer promotes the sport of luge

ACTIVE PARTNER OF FIL
FOR THE SPORT OF LUGE

Precision, performance and passion: When the athletes enter the ice canal on their luge, maximum performance is required. The enthusiasm of athletes and fans warms the heart: just one of the many reasons why Eberspächer has supported luge as an active partner of the FIL (International Luge Federation) for over twenty years. The motivation for such top performances consists of motivation, innovation and continuous technical development. This also applies to Eberspächer's products.

Ideally adjusted for best performance

Hot and cold: emotion meets precision, just like with products from Eberspächer. Whether heating in winter or cooling in summer, Eberspächer thermal management solutions raise the bar when it comes to comfort and safety. The ideal technical adjustment to the highest requirements enables top performance. As in luge, so in mobility.

It’s not surprising that Eberspächer holds the title sponsorship of the FIL Luge World Cup Series since 2020 and therefore emphasizes the value of reliable partnerships. Whether the athletes in the ice track, the team behind the stars or the fans on the sidelines – the passion for winter sports unites them. Eberspächer maintains partnerships with top international athletes even after their active careers, as an innovator or brand ambassador, including winter sports legend Georg Hackl.

Things to know about the sports of luge

FIL – Fédération Internationale de Luge de Course

The International Luge Federation (FIL) is officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the world federation of the sport of luge and represents the interests of the sport internationally. With more than 50 member countries, the FIL is host of the world championships. Whether single seater, double seater or in teams – the women and men compete with passion.

A Swiss premiere

The luge only started to gain popularity as a piece of sporting equipment in the 19th century. The first luge race with international participants took place in 1883, in Davos, Switzerland. From the beginning of the 1950s, the popularity of luge sports as a winter sports discipline started to increase, even on an international level. Since the 1964 Winter Games, luge has been considered an Olympic discipline.
