FlexCC

The FlexCC is a purpose built Communication Controller Module for our FlexNode prototyping platform. The main advantage of this board is the direct link between the µController and the FlexRay Communication Controller without further gateway devices. This enables a most effective data transfer.

Another advantage is the small size of this module. So, such a board might also be very interesting for customer specific applications where the Communication Controller will not be mounted directly on the base board.

RS485 bus drivers are implemented on this board. These drivers can be used to communicate with the FlexRay protocol without having the FlexRay-specific bus drivers.

Currently 2 versions of FlexCC are available at Eberspaecher Electronics:

• FlexCC Cyclone II FPGA: includes the Bosch E-Ray Communication Controller implemented in a ALTERA Cyclone II FPGA
• FlexCC MFR4310: includes the Freescale FlexRay Communication Controller MFR4310, which is based on protocol version V2.1.
