FlexRay Physical Layer Conformance Test
General
The FlexRay Consortium ordered from Eberspächer Electronics the development of the conformance test specification of the electrical physical layer. During the development phase the consortium decided to order the implementation of the conformance test at Eberspächer Electronics, too. The development will be in co-operation with C&S, Wolfenbuettel/Germany. The conformance test will be officially offered and executed by Eberspächer Electronics. Other companies are able to buy the conformance test equipment from Eberspächer Electronics.
Overview of the Conformance Test
The test topology contains all relevant FlexRay network components:
- Active star coupler
- Passive star
- Passive bus
- Point to point connections
Hardware
The hardware used in the conformance test is the same as in the system test. The difference between the conformance and system test are the central signal generation and measurement (conformance test) in opposition to the local generation of the test signals and signal measurement in the system test. The equipment (signal generators and measurement units) are standard measurement products.
Software
The software and the hardware are realised in modules. The main advantage is, that it is always possible to add more test cases to the conformance test.
